I control my food intake by counting calories using my fitnesspal. I have been very slow loosing weight with using a low fat diet, so thought I would try a low carb one unstead, but I am struggling to keep my carbs down, usually averaging about 130g-180g a day any advice on getting it lower or is it ok.

If it works for you, then it is the right level. Just make sure you are cutting out all the processed carbs, like breakfast cereals, cakes and biscuits, and anything with sugar in. It doesn't work for everyone.

This may be a useful site.

try 1 whole egg and an extra egg white for brekky, chicken and salad for lunch, protein shake in afternoon meat and green veges for dinner, wishing you well

It's ok to keep a check on your carbs but you do need the unrefined ones, two Weetabix or 35g of porridge oats in the morning should kick start your day, Tried myfitnesspal? it makes it easy to monitor this stuff and its free to sign up to. Plenty fluids too, water, no sugar fruit squash (though not too much of this) herbal teas too. Look on the diabetes UK web site they have some god advice too. Good Luck
