I'm losing inches and not pounds , and I'm not sure why? I'm running 3 times a week so I guess I'm getting some muscle but that can't be why can it?

Losing pound or inches
Are you counting calories? There's a brilliant free app and website called MyFitnessPal where you can log everything you eat, but make sure you don't eat the calories you burn through running as they're a bonus.
I agree with gingernut49, use the MyFitnessPal, it's great. Don't focus on what you HAVEN'T lost, instead focus on the fact that your have lost inches and your health is improving! I also had only inch loss and no lbs loss at my weigh-in last saturday - first time I have experienced it this way, but I've made a decision not to be downhearted about it, as it is a loss after all and I'm heading in the right direction of living a healthy lifestyle.
running can be hard for some people at times sterching can help muscle pain light exceisce lose weight faster and will keep it off healhty diet also needed
Sometimes I feel the same so I know what you mean. It's just the body shape changing due to the change in exercise. At first I was running three times per week to get into it. Now I've increased the running to four times per week with a Davina DVD in between and also two stretch/rest days. That's how I'm doing it. On rest days I still go out walking someimes with my little girl. I also train with weights at home. I'n watching my calories/portion sizes with the odd treat at weekends.
