Finding it difficult to stay motivated with healthy eating 7 days a week. Monday to Thursday i'm in control, sticking to my WW points and exercise goals, come the weekend and all willpower goes out the window, so not losing weight, or more to the point yo yo weight lose and gain! I realise that It is my mindset and I need to stay In control in order to lose weight, so far since January I have lost a total of 4lb. I have a total of 18lb to lose. I walk on average 40 minutes a day, five days a week, and do 4 hours of aerobic classes a week. Any tips to overcome this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Angsatch,

Perhaps you should look at your weight loss journey as not getting to a particular weight, but rather as changing the things you eat, the amounts you eat and your whole relationship with food so that you journey towards a healthier you who has better eating habits that will keep you healthier.

For sure, you will journey through 22 lbs of weight loss, and indeed you've already journeyed through 4 lb of it.

But try to make your objective to re-train yourself into better eating habits, so that this time you'll stay at a more appropriate and healthier weight.

As you go through this journey, you should be learning more and more about what are "good" foods to eat and which are ones best avoided, or only eaten occasionally and in little amounts. You'll also discover things about yourself and food, perhaps what your weaknesses are foodwise and how to stop them wrecking your good intentions.

But as you change your eating habits, your tastes will change too. You'll want less and less those higher calorie foods, in fact you may find that eating very sweet or high-fat foods ends up being quite unappealing to you.

As they say knowledge is power. And it's probably the things that you learn along the way that give you the power to make the changes to your eating style so that this time you lose the weight for good.

Good luck with your weight loss journey..
