Why do you need to lose so much? Try giving yourself small goals to reach. For example, when you've lost half a stone, go and buy yourself something as a reward like new shoes, a DVD, some jewellery. It will help to keep you motivated. I'm using the 12 week plan put together by the NHS, I've just started week 3 and I've found all their tips and advice for each week to be really helpful. You don't throw yourself into the deep end straight away, you go in gradually which means you're less likely to succeed.

Good luck in your weight loss and try not to beat yourself up so much, everyone on the forum is here for a little support and we're all happy to give help and advice for those who ask :)

Hi well done in taking the first steps to a healthier live. I suggest you take things steady and see your weight loss as a long term change which will last the rest of your life rather than a short term diet. That way you will not set yourself up to fail and will not be put off by small, short term set backs. Good luck.

If I could give u piece of advice is: FOCUS. Keep food diary, weight yourself daily and measure yourself weekly. (Sometimes when you train intensively, you build the muscles which are heavier than fat but well help you to loose weight. In these weeks if you measure yourself you will find that you have lost inches even if weight didn't drop. This is good sign and you must notice it to keep going! Try to exercise more as this helps not only to burn calories but also helps to speed up your metabolism and produce serotonine which will help you to stay happy and well motivated. Be kind to yourself and do not stop going because of small sins. Have long- and short-term goals and ENJOY the process! All the best!

Hi Angel

Welcome to our family xx

I am so glad you joined the group, you've got the biggest step over with, admitting you need help and asking for it!

Don't worry about how much you need to loose or how many calories per day for now!

Use a smaller plate (teaplate), chew each mouthful at least 25 times, it takes your brain 25 minutes to realise you've started eating. Chewing for longer makes brain think you've eaten more, makes you feel full quicker!

Don't weigh yourself daily!! If you don't loose anything you'll give up once a week is enough and measure yourself weekly you'll notice the weight come off that way.

I'm in same boat as you but i have no feeling to my right side so exercise is not really an option. And i have hypermobility ( my muscles are not tight enough to hold my joints in place to stop them dislocating)

I have found a website called thick greenies, the woman makes smoothies and thick shakes to have instead of a meal but they are packed with all the vitamins and minerals your body needs especially when loosing weight as we need them to keep us going and stop us feeling tired and lifeless!

They taste great you choose the ingredients and you don't feel hungry!!!

Sorry for the long message i'll get off my wobbly soapbox now hee hee xx

If you would like a rebellious nutter! as a lifestyle buddy i'd be honoured to be there for you. Good luck on your journey to the new you!

Take care and angel blessings xx
