Hi

This may be useful for you to look at and read- talkhealthpartnership.com/b...

The author talks about the importance of diet for weight loss from an alternative perspective other than the regular calorie/low fat models that many diet companies encourage.

When I started my weight loss journey I had serious mobility issues, caused from an accident I had years before, however made far worse by my weight. I did not do any exercise at all for the first year and in that first year I lost over 10 stone (you can read the details on my profile if it helps), the point is that you don't need to be active to make positive changes in your lifestyle, losing weight from my own experience is 90% diet.

Hi, I have neck, shoulder, lower spine and knee pain due to spondylosis and arthritis. So it's all about working within my limits of mobility and pain. I've made a pact with myself that for this 12 weeks, I will do 30 minutes of whatever I can, in the morning, when my limited supply of energy is at its' highest. So I've had a walk once I get myself going, or put on music to move around to. I reckon start small, and anything is better than nothing. On days when exercise is out of the question, my mind set is to stay positive, eat well, up the pain killers and start again the next day. I am sooooooo envious of the couch to 5k guys ( in a nice way, who am I kidding) as there's no way I can ever run now, or even trot. This might sound wrong, but reading the posts here, it's good to know you're not the only one with problems. Good luck.

Hi, have been disabled for 14 years, with ME, so the weight has piled on, increasing the mobility and health issues. Since Nov, I have managed to lose 6 kgs but it is really hard work. Just keep going with smaller portions, healthy foods, as little junk food as possible, and gentle exercise when you can. My local library is having a health session in a couple of weeks and will be demonstrating chair-exercises, so I shall go along for that.
