Back from holiday late Monday night - + 8 lbs, despite all the walking we did. Too much pasta and ice cream. Oh, plus the 'odd' glass of wine.

I haven't been able to focus on my diet since then as have a bad virus, got on the scales today, now +9 lbs. I'm hungry all the time! This feed a cold and starve a fever never seems to apply to me. So I am back to where I was before I started this second set of 12 weeks. :-(

I have felt quite despondent during the week as it feels as though I have gained the weight so easily - but, it was all within my own control so I am the one who did it to myself.

Feeling more positive this morning so hope I can now refocus and hope to lose the weight gain quickly and get back on track.

To look from another angle is to imagine what weight you would be now after the holiday if you had not done the last 12 weeks.

You'll also probably find as soon as you get back to it that because it was such a quick weight gain that you'll lose a good percentage of it again in the first couple of weeks, hopefully.

Try not to be too disheartened :) Sounds like you had a great break!

I have lost 3 of the 4 pounds I put on in 5 days this week - the fist step is getting on the scales and you have done that so well done!

If it's any consolation - and it probably isn't! - I've been very distracted by various other things of late and have taken my 'eye off the ball' a bit and drifted up by about a kilo and a half.

But now that I've noticed, I'll tighten things up a tad as I have no intention whatsoever of going back in the direction of my former weight.

And, hey, you've done it before, and recently, so you KNOW you CAN do it. I mean you're not exploring the weight loss thing, or experimenting to see if it actually works - you know how it works.

Good luck with bringing it back into control.


Thank you all for your encouragement. It is so good to know I am not alone with the ups and the downs and Doikosp, yes, I CAN and WILL.

5lbs now off - 4 lbs to go to get me to my pre holiday weight.
