# WLC Diet Starts 02/09/2013

Hi . Starting point. 93kg. A BMI 33.1 Approx. 43" Waist. I'm going to try and calorie count so I don't have to look for any special foods. I will be going to a local gym as well. Feels like I have to move a mountain :-(

Hi Cully, you are where i started early last year, I am now approx 70 kg and my bmi is just above 25, i still have a little way to go, about 2lb off my goal weight, but it is possible!

It hasn't been fast, but it has been steady. The small changes add up, changing for healthier options and increasing my activity, i found the NHS couch to 5 k programme to be great, it a great way to tone up and it made me look closer at how i was fuelling my body.

I have gone from a size 16 to 10/12 :)

Go for it, don't give up on the bad days, give yourself smaller goals so it isn't so daunting!

Hi There, Thanks for the input. Its daunting but my main aim was to give up smoking which I did 15 months ago. From a size 16 to a 10/12 is remarkable, good for you :-). I have a spreadsheet ready now with what I eat and how I exercise. Hope to be 14 stone for xmas. I'll need dynamite to shift this mountain. :-)

I'm starting today too, 98kg how did that happen??

Like you I feel I've got a mountain to climb.

I'm going to calorie count and start couch to 5k bejesus!!

Hi There, Thanks for the input. I'm going to concentrate on the calories 1st. I want to start jogging up to 5k as well, but I think with all this excess baggage it will be hard going. I tried a little jog and my beer belly was swinging around that much I couldn't work out which direction I was running. Good luck with your campaign, :-)

Hi There, Thanks for the input. I'm going to add a note every day. I hope it will remind me and keep me focused. It's easy to get up in the morning and forget and put 2 sugars in my tea. I think your right I need a lifestyle change then will never have to diet again. Hope yours goes well!! :-)

Thanks Cully,im going to try plan my meals using Change for life website,then i can count calories without guessing...family meals and for work.

Welcome ladies (and or gentlemen) exercise is great especially for toning, but where you will see the greatest change is calorie restriction use an ap like my fitness pal to count everything even in the short term it can be quite an eye opener! Good luck, similar to itsallanadveture, but I am now done, started at 14.6 size 16-18mid jan after Xmas festivities and am now 10.13, and size 10-12 half stone less than when I got married 30years ago and my lightest adult weight ever

Hi, I was looking into my calories. So men can take in 2,500kcal per day. So obviously I was taking in more because I'm at least 3 stone over weight. I was reading this diet plan and the intake was 1,900kcal. If I was asked last week before I looked into it if I was taking in 1,900kcal per day I would have said no I take in less. I guess all those little extra's add up over the week. I'm working on a list of shopping that I would normally buy each week and counting calories, I'm going to try 1,500kcal per day. I'll stay away from the scales until Sunday evening. Day 1 and I'm starving :-(

If you are starving, have you cut back too much, or too quickly? Not all calories are the same, you need to make sure you are getting enough protein and fibre, cut out processed food as much as possible. I make sure to keep some proper fat in my diet, otherwise you end up hungry all the time.
