Hi, welcome! Have you looked at the NHS weight loss plan this forum is linked to? That might be one place to start.

Hi,

Here's a link to the NHS weight loss plan:

I used the NHS guide and have slowly lost weight. I am eating much healthier and have learned portion control which was my biggest problem. Lots of exercise too - farmore than suggested on the plan as a minimum. I use a pocket calorie counter book and a spreadsheet to add up my calories. I find the most important thing is meal planning and not to get too hungry. I do not count calories if I go out for a meal or I am entertaining, but it pans out anyway.

Hello,

I just lost 2 and a half stone on Weightwatchers. It took a whole year but it came off steady and I am so sure I can keep it off because you learn so much.

I lost 2 stone many years ago on 1000 calories a day. This was set by my doctor after I had my second daughter. It worked quite quick, 1 stone per month. I could eat what I wanted as long as I only ate 1000 calories. Obviously I put it all back on and more, mainly because there was no facts about the food I should have changed for good or for the better.

Good luck.

Hi, I heard that you should eat between 1200 - 1400 calories as this still keeps your diet healthy as well :)
