ZUMBA!!!!

I always hated going to the gym because I'm really self conscious and I have no love for the way I look but the problem was that I wanted to lose some weight and get rid of some of the inches I have on my hips and thighs. I got talking to a friend who did Zumba classes and had seen some serious results. I knew I wasn't ready for classes so I decided to by the Zumba fitness dvd's and I can tell you it's the best thing I've done for myself in a long time. I've been dancing along to the dvd's for about 3 weeks now and I'm loving every second of it. I've lost inches almost everywhere and I couldn't be happier. I'm still not ready for the gym or for classes but I hope I will be when I'm a little more comfortable with myself.

If you don't do gyms or you don't want classes where you know you'll be self conscious around other people then I recommend that you get the Zumba dvd's and dance and party yourself to a slimmer and more happy you. :)

Hi cathypeach. Thanks for telling us about the Zumba CD's. A friend of mine goes and loves it. I'll seek them out. I know what you mean about going to the gym. I was once a member and loved it when I was going first thing and was the only one there in the pool. Then I totally put myself off it all when I went during the day and it was full of lean, fit exhibitionists and the horrible smell of stale sweat YUK! I hated it! I'm finding the C25K programme a brilliant way to get moving but will also look into this Zumba - sounds fun! Keep Zumbaring!

Hey Beek,

I know what you mean it's those kinds of people that just stand there and intimidate you just by looking so good. then you start thinking that they are stood there watching everything that you're doing. I used to love going swimming but then I went during the summer holidays and there were so many people and they all started looking at me and watching me (well at least I thought that they were) and it just put me off going back. I will go eventually but it wont be until I am more comfortable in my own body and when I can catch someone looking at me and not feel so embarrassed about how I look.

Can you recomend any good zumba DVDs, there are so many out there it gets confusing ! What one do you use ? And how often do you work out with them?

Hey,

I got mine from Argos. I didn't really want to spend all that much and I found one for £29.98.

have a look at that one as it's the one that I have but I think that they do others. Once you get the hang of doing the moves it's great fun and you hardly feel like you're doing a workout (which is the best bit for me). I try and use them at least once a day, even if it's just to do the 20 minute workout.

Hi, I'm glad you mentioned if you hate going to the gym or classes as that's exactly what I hate but I do like dancing around so will look for one of the Cds, thanks, Sue
