Diet Starts Tomorrow...

Well, here's the thing, Im 36, 5ft 3, mother of 3, wife of 1 and most important, [well to me anyway], im 11st 6lbs. I long for the days when I could jogg to the gym with my toned lycra cladd figure but now I'm more used to panting up the stairs to sort the kids and hope there will be a brew and biscuit waiting for me when I get back down!! I have tried some of the well known slimming clubs but never with much succsess so thought I'd give this a go and see how I get on. I shall draw on all I'v learnt from the past and from reading other peoples stories and feel that even if no-one reads this or comments on it, putting how i feel in the public domaine is going to give me the determination to succeed. I cant let all the people that are probably not reading this down!! lol. I'v never blogged before and to be honest, if my 13yr old son found out I'm not sure if he'd be proud of me or roll on the floor laughing! I know i dont have a huge amount to loose but it feels alot to me and the doctor has advised me to shed some weight as I have heart disease and diabetes rife in my family.

This feels alot like talking to myself.....

Tomorrow is going to be my weigh in day so here goes...

Good luck! you can do it :D with your busy lifestyle, you're key is to snack healthily (fruit or nuts) to keep your energy high.

I'm touched that someone read my waffle!! Yes your right, snacking is my down fall, a biscuit with a brew often turns into 6!!

Jump on the diet bus welcome aboard!

Welcome, and just to say that you should congratulate yourself on blogging for the very first time. The one thing I would like to pass on that is helping me with quite a few things, is to count your successes however small, from now on. Good luck

I started the 12 week plan last week and have also blogged for the first time in my life. My weight and height are also the same as yours but can add 30 years to your age. I have mobility problems and can't walk or stand for long but I've been getting on my exercise bike every day and also using my treadmill as I can hang on to it. I haven't lost any weight yet but feel fitter so hoping that the weight will suddenly drop off, it's up and down on a daily basis anyway so I'm not worried. Best of luck to you.

Hi, I'm 38 with 3 children and 1 husband and a job so I know where you are coming from. I use myfitness pal to help me along with calorie counting and tracking what I eat, you can get is as an app on your phone or update it on your computer so there's no excuse. I've more weight to lose than you but in 6 weeks I've lost a steady 13 lbs and looking forward to getting my stone when I weight myself on Monday morning. Also one of the best things that helps me lose weight is exercise, I'm doing the c25k at the gym 3 times a week and also go swimming (my husband has to be very patient cos he's looking after the kids whilst I'm working out, I'm sure he doesn't mind though). Good luck and keep us updated.

Hi, in answer to your comment, I think because I am motivated at the moment, I want to go to the gym because I know it could mean the difference between 1 or 2 lbs off, also the more exercise you do the fitter you feel and not so tired. There are nights when I plan to go but things don't work out due to family commitments etc. I normally go about 8.30 / 9.00 when the kids are settled and ready for bed, although when I go swimming my 9 year old daughter comes along too. p.s. Got my stone this week, I'm now 12st 12 lbs another 3 (stone) to go. Happy blogging.

Well knock me down with a feather...SEVEN comments. I didnt expect that, thank you to every one. As promised the diet did start tomorrow/today and the scales said....11st 5lb so that means before i started today i had lost a pound, cool. I also refused the food of the devil..pizza, pat on the back for me etc etc. Feel very liberated by this blogging thing and very positive and motivated. Its like i'm a different person. Cant wait till i look like one ; ] I have chosen to follow a different eating programme to most on here and am going for cutting down on portion size of the food i eat normally, as i do, in my defense, eat healthily with no precessed foods and little or no fat and i cook everything from scratch with lots of fruit and veg. I need to stop naughty snacks [mostly] and stop thinking im pregnant...eating for two or three or ....you get the point, not forgetting to move more. Think i had better get that dusty exercise dvd out!! I'm not measuring myself as i dont need a tape to tell me i no longer have a 26 inch waist, the post baby overhang does that!!!! Come on... You know you have one! And then there's my daughter whos 8....mum why is your belly wobbly like that...

I will blogg once a week for those who want to follow, unless i feel particularly great or pants, then i may blogg to tell you all whether you want to know or not. Hope i provide you with a bit of a giggle as life is too short not too..just like the odd piece of cake i find.; ]

Till then...

Hi, Like yourself, I too am same height and weight roughly, i'm at the heaviest i've ever been in my life....was 9st 2lbs for years and years and know that i'm carrying too much as i'm getting out of breathe climbing stairs/running for a bus, etc. My diet starts tomorrow so i'm doing a shopping list of nice, healthy food and this time i'm not going to be sucked into buying junk because it's on offer!! Well here goes...maybe if we all stick together and give each other help and support along the way we'll be able to fit back into those size 10 jeans for the summer!! All the best, Devers40 x

Thanks for the support. Some times because i dont have a huge amount of weight to loose i can feel a bit of a fraud and that leads me not to try so hard. Nice to know there are others with similar targets.

What worked for me was a program by nutritionist Isabel De Los Rios. If it helps anybody else details of her weight loss plan can be found here: wowitworked.com/fast-weight...
