Waking up from my long 'food for comfort' denial...

I started calorie counting nearly two weeks ago now and I am finding it quite a revelation that it would appear that I have been very successfully deluding myself about why I eat. I really realise now that I have been rewarding my efforts in other areas of my life with food. I am on 1350 calories a day and it is enough if you eat healthily, but the carvings for sugar/fat are hard to beat when I am tired/stressed. I am on the search for things that will replace this rewards system, and fast!

This is the nature of the beast I am afraid when you only have a relatively small amount to lose. 1350 calories is o.k nutritionally if you are really careful, in fact I would say it is probably giving me more vitamins and minerals than my previous carbohydrate loaded diet when I didn't pay attention! Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to up the calories when I switch to maintaining my weight, but I am never really hungry on this diet and if I slip occasionally then that is life and I will not get hung up on it. I only have a month to go if I keep losing the 2 lbs a week and as I put more exercise in I will up it a bit.
