NHS Health Check: testing for the biggest killers

The NHS Health Check will assess your risk of developing heart disease, stroke, diabetes, kidney disease and some forms of dementia. Once you know your risk, you’ll be given advice and assistance to help you reduce it.

Together, these conditions are the biggest cause of preventable deaths in the UK.

Find out how the conditions are linked and how they are tested for in the NHS Health Check guide:

  • Thank you for placing this online, it was extremely interesting. I never knew that serious conditions could link to other serious conditions that have no apparent connection.

Coincidentally, I had my first appointment with my physiotherapist and she asked me about any cancer, heart disease and diabetes in the family, so this is very professional and on the ball.

    Thank you
