Peripheral Neuropathy?

I was treated for a Burketts Lymphoma 20 years ago and I know that I had an infection in my left foot whilst I was undergoing chemotherapy, since then I have had a numb foot with pins and needles and it aches more when it is damp or wet weather. I have never had peripheral neuropathy diagnosed and was told the symptoms were due to the sciatica I also have in my left leg. Two days ago I had a fall in our High Street whilst stepping up a kerb, I thought my foot was on the pavement but it obviously wasn't. This has really shaken my confidence has anyone had a similar experience or any advice as to what to do next. Am reluctant to go to the Drs. at the moment because of the coronavirus as they are busy enough as it is.

Thank you

All anyone can really advise you to do is to monitor your symptoms, as this could be any number of things and none of us are medically qualified, nor examined you to give an opinion. So many meuropathy and immune condititions have similar symptoms, especially at the onset of them.

I would suggest contacting your GP and follow their advise.

Thank you for your reply, I guess I am reluctant to contact my GPsurgery because they are so busy dealing with the Coronovirus outbreak, however, I think maybe it is time to have this diagnosed and dealt with.

Another victim of chemotherapy.. I'm so sorry..!

😒

I'm a cancer survivor. Almost 10 years ago they found a very invasive carcinoma in my left breast. I had the tumor removed and a few weeks after that I started chemotherapy.

Nobody told me about the possibility of chemo causing Peripheral Neuropathy.

It's the worst thing that has happened to me. It totally destroyed my life. It's been a nightmare. I'd rather die than live like this.

Apparently, the PN caused the Restless Legs Syndrome I'm suffering now. Those things, along with the Fibromyalgia, one of my other problems,p are all related.

There's no cure for them and they can get worse with time.

😳

I am so sorry to hear that you are going through so much pain, like you I had not heard of Peripheral Neuropathy before the trouble with my foot started and I cannot sympathise enough with how much you are suffering. I can only hope that research work is being done and new ways of reducing the pain associated with Peripheral Neuropathy and Fibrmyalgia will be found in the near future. Keep hangin on in there. Having to go through Cancer Treatment is hard enough but to find yourself in such a hard place now must be difficult to take.

Keep in touch with how you are getting on and take care of yourself.

Thank you so much Milko. I really appreciate your nice words.

Yes, life has become extremely difficult with all the pains. I don't like complaining all the time and a lot of people have no idea what I'm going through. If it weren't for my loving husband, I don't know what I'd do.

You too, take care.
