How long after having the mirena coil taken out can a woman get pregnant? I'm really worried i will not be able to conceive once i have had it taken out? Has anyone else been able to get pregnant after having the mirena coil taken out?

Not personally, but of course you u wil be able to concieve, its just the same as the pill, its advised wait three months for normal periods to resume and become regular again, then my bit of advise is pin point your ovulation day, by using ovulation kit this way you have the best chance of conceiving:)

Thank you! Aw that's really good then :) how come they advise you to wait 3 months? Is it just to get your body into a normal routine again? I also have endometriosis which I don't know whether that will affect my chances too

Hi,

I had my Mirena out in early July 2012 (after wearing it for appx 18 months) and fell pregnant end of October 2012 (due end Jun 2013). I think that I had a very early miscarriage the month before (Sept 2012) .. It took about 2 to 3 months for my periods to get back into a regular(ish) pattern after the coil came out - not sure if this helps you?

ps: This my second child and it took me only 2 month longer (or 1 month if you count the early MC) to conceive after the coil than after coming off the pill first time round. Just my personal experience...

Hi, I had my mirena coil out in mid dec and was told by my doctor that I could get pregnant straight away. We got our hopes up so much that it would then happen immediately and then i started reading blogs and everywhere seemed to say it was taking people months and years! i had one day of very light bleeding at the end of december, then a proper period in late jan - that was my last one because now i am 7 weeks pregnant so it only took just over a month! Good luck!! Xx
