Hi,

Have a look on health.groups.yahoo.com/gro...

There are a lot of knowledgeable people on there who you can ask for advice. I wanted a VBAC for my 2nd second child.....I went in to the hospital & spoke to the head of midwives who did a risk assessment. He was happy for me to proceed with a VBAC. I expressed my desire for a very natural birth with no continuous monitoring, preferably in the birth pool in the midwife led unit. He was very supportive. The important thing to remember is that you can choose whatever birth you want, medical professionals can only offer their opinion and advice but at the end of the day, all choices are yours. The HOM should note down your conversation & put it in your file so that you won't have any midwives querying your wishes when you check in at the hospital in labour!.

I ended up opting for an elective section as my baby was breech.

Good luck!

There are some really good books and stuff out there as many women have a successful VBAC. An UK focused book on the topic is:

amazon.co.uk/Vaginal-Birth-...

If hypnotherapy may work for you, this is a VBAC CD to help you address any fears you may have:

natalhypnotherapy.co.uk/nat...

Both of which you can order/request from the library.

There are herbs you can take to strengthen the womb if you want. I'd go to a Medical Herbalist who's registered with the NIMH.

You can try natural ways to encourage your baby into the right position, including changes in posture and rest position and core-strength exercise for pregnancy and labour.

I just want to say congratulations and well done on growing a happy healthy baby first-time round. But also that you are important. That your birthing story is important and how you feel is important too. As aureus30 practically and rightly says, there are things you will want to follow through with the hospital to check it's medically safe. But I would like to add that you becoming a mother and your experience of childbirth and your knowledge and wisdom and emotions from that is also really unique and special.

Good luck with your preparations xax

thanks so much to both of you.i feel better now as there is hope xx

I had a vbac 9 years after my section, just make sure you go through all your concerns with your consultant and make sure you have a good midwife, I had to have the drip to speed up contractions which got out of hand and ended up not being a nice experience, i complained then had another vbac. 2 years later which was fantastic because the midwife was on the ball and very experienced. The consultant even popped in to check on me which was a nice touch considering how busy they are these days, if your not happy about anything then say ,good luck hope all goes well! :)
