I'm feeling blue...

I keep feeling things and have no idea if it's to be expected, if I'm being naive or over fussy. I've looked online and can't find what I need for reassurance.

I'm 32 +5 weeks, apart from squiggly's ouchy movements I have what feels like period pains deep in my unmentionables. They're not on and off like I imagine a Braxton hick but it's just there and I'd love to know why. My belly is tight all the time and again why I don't think it's a BH.

Squiggly feels very low down, like a pressured feeling. I'm hoping she stays put till week 37, I'm nervous to call the midwife with this if it's just a normal sensation.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Hi Hun, call the midwife this morning!

I should think its where baby is pushing down on your cervix but best to double check.

If you remember I had very sharp pains/cramping in my vagina at 20 weeks it turned out to be a urine infection, was on antibiotics for a week, midwife said I could have gone into labour as the pains was mini contractions.

Don't be embarrassed to call the midwife, just go for it xxx

I've had those most of the way through my pregnancy. I'm now getting them more frequently and more painful (I'm 37+4) and it's baby pushing on my cervix and the cervix starting to thin out to prepare for labour. I am hoping this means a slighly early or on time baby....... but I digress! if you are worried, call your midwife or maternity unit, they will be able to put your mind at rest far better than we can.

It could be pressure on your pelvis too.i have a constant pain and ache as if I have been hit down there and have been having physio, as it's a twisted pelvis. Rest up as much as you can. X

Thank you everyone for your support.

I eventually spoke to the midwife in the afternoon. She says there isn't anything unusual going on although not sure why I'm getting period type pains, she enquired about a possible uti but I don't have the other symptoms associated with it (no high temp or burning on urination). She also mentioned the possibility of pelvic girdle pain. I don't know, I'm at a point now where I just want to reach 37 weeks so if anything happened squiggly will be full term. I hope with all my heart she stays put and is healthy. She's been on the move today but not as frantic as the last 3 days where I believe she has circuit trained and knackered herself out cutting up a rug in there and pushing down on my cervix.

Good luck tigernoodles with your big squeeze!

I think from now on rather than ringing my midwife I'll just ring the hospital with any concerns.

Definitely going to rest as much as I can. Thanks again everyone, I'd be lost without this site frankly! :) xx
