I recently measured small at a midwife appointment and was sent for a growth scan (of course I was worried) turned out baby was large (I know, baffling) and was sent for GTT which came back normal.

My advice is if you can relax about it. Unless advised about making changes to what you're eating and drinking I'd carry on as you are. If you are scheduled a growth scan wait for that as it will give you a broader picture of how your baby is.

Good luck! xx

Hi Hun

Did your midwife seem overly concerned at this measurement?

I am always measuring a cm or 2 over my weeks...except 1 week when I measured 3xm over...I nearly had a heart attack...even then one midwife so 'oh we don't worry if you're 2 under or 2 over' & this 1 who measured 3 over said 'oh don't worry, we don't worry unless you're more than 3cm either side'

Bottom line is..each midwife will measure you differently & if they showed no concern I wouldn't stress about it...maybe go back & see them in a week or so to get measured again if you're that worried?

I hope some of the answers on here puts your mind at ease x

Hi, at 42weeks (daughter was born 3days later) mine was 37.. Had a growth scan which showed my daughter was at least 8lbs and weighed 8lb 3oz at birth :-)
