Hip pain is getting worse

My left hip is so painful that I'm struggling to walk, lift my legs, change position, even put my left foot flat on the ground, this is definitely SPD.

Does the doc give you a pelvic support belt and does the belt have to be fitted to your body type?

Any tips to help with the pain till i see the doc?

i've found that a heat bag on the area on a hot bath always helps me.

The NHS doesn't fund support belts anymore, so you might as well go ahead and source your own, as that's what you'll be told to do when you see the doc/physio, unless of course you're seeing someone very soon, in which case you may want to get their opinion of the best belt to buy before taking the plunge. They don't need to be specially fitted. I found this one to be helpful, but my pain was in the pubic bone rather than hip, so your mileage may vary: mothercare.com/Nexcare-Mate.... That kind of belt is designed to lift you up to take the weight off your pelvis. You can also get belts that are designed to squeeze everything in, which some women swear by.

Sorry, the link I pasted in doesn't seem to work, but if you search for "Nexcare" on the mothercare website, the belt I mean comes up.

Ive been diagonised with PGP and my midwife referred me to a physio, there is help u can get. There us Hyrotheapry (cant spell sorry) massage and a belt has been ordered for me meanwhile my physio has given me a giant tubey grip for round my hips which helps no end.

I also recomend a mattress topper of memory foam, not a cheap option I know but really helps when sleeping.

I have a fembrace for back pain that I got on the nhs, it's the same one they would use for spd sufferers. ,abbé it depends on your trust.

Call your doctor or midwife and ask for help, back and hip pain is so awful and debilitating, it's the last thing you should be having to cope with at the moment.
