Trying to concieve

Hi everyone!

Me and my partner have recently decided to try for a baby (its all very exciting and scary!)

Can anyone recommend any tricks to speed the process along? I am on pre natal vitamins and this is my 2nd month without the pill. I am 21 and my partner is 25.

Thank youuuu!

We used the clearblue ferility monitor, you have a digital monitor and have to buy a pack of tests which teats your urine and looks out for hormones that indicate when you are ovulating, its good as it shows your your fertile days as well as your ovulating days. I was on the injection untill june 2011 and we eventually fell in August 2012. Although according to my dating scan we didnt fall when the monitor said I had ovulated so god knows when it actua;ly was but I think my cycle might be a bit off!!! There are also other ovulation tests you can use as the clearblue digital monitor is expensive, I got mine off ebay for £50. Good Luck x

Thank you very much this is handy and congratulations!

Ovulation tests are definitely helpful. But what's important too is not to put too much pressure on yourselves. Be as relaxed about it as you can, enjoy yourselves and maybe you'll soon discover you don't need an ovulation test anymore ;)

Good luck!

I got pregnant after 6 months of trying and didn't use any tests. You can sorta work it would yourself if you have regular periods and have a good time lol!!

It can take some time for you body to adjust if you've been on the pill for a while. also although for some people this may happen quite quickly it may take longer for you so just try to enjoy the trying part. ;-)

Good luck x

I got pregnant at the very first month (and I hope every thing is fine inside - my first scan is in 2013 so untill than we wait while i puke :P)

I used the online calculator and knew that we need to be having a lot of fun in bed between certain dates did that. I also adopted the age old trick on lying on my back with my knees raise towards my chin for certain minutes. And days we made love early morning, I took a real small shower 30 or 40 minutes afterwards (maybe its a myth, but I heard that prolonged hot showers do not let you concieve. And this i certainly know from my research on population studies that women in urban slums of India generally take a hot shower and wash their private parts with hot water immediately after having sex and that helps them in avoiding pregnancy - which was a curious thing for me, as most of the people in Urban slums, felt embarrased buying condoms or pills)

I do agree with newly wed, we both got a bit obsessive over ovulating and when was the best time to have sex. We were just being referred to a fertility clinic as we had had some tests done that couldn't figure out why it wasn't happening and as soon as we "gave up" on trying it happened! so remember to enjoy yourselves! xx

There's a great app called period tracker. I used that and regularly informed my husband when we were upping the anti. We did this even though I'm "infertile" and it worked.

The key is to relax. A friend of mine fell after giving up. She'd been trying with her husband for years. They got a dog and boom... He's 18 now.

With my first pregnancy I tracked my Basal Temperature - but it was easy to become obessed by this, however as my cycle was so irregular it really helped - we had been trying almost a year and then fell pregnant just 2 months after we started tracking.

This time I'm using the clearblue ovulation indicator sticks as I don't think the temperature thing would be accurate when getting up and down to my first in the night! (It's meant to be your resting temperature so you should have been lying down not moving much ie asleep, for at least 4 hours before reading!

My doctor however poopoo's both these methods saying you get too obessed and uptight and that doesn't help. His advice was just to have sex every other night from day 5 of each cycle until the start of the next!

Now twelve weeks, good luck and enjoy, ps, didn't use any mo intros no temp recording etc, we just said what will be will be and enjoyed ourselves. :-)
