I just got it at 7 weeks. The nurse recommended it & said it would help protect me from a flu & other viruses that would lead to a miscarriage.

My doctor said roughly the same: "We don't do it in spite of the baby, we do it because of the baby."

I had the flu jabat 5 weeks and miscarried at 7 weeks plus one. I would post pone it until after 12 weeks. I know there is no evidence that it can lead to miscarrying but there has never been a trial done on pregnant women either and most of them who have it, go on to have healthy babies. With a history and needing a peace of mind, I dont see any harm in postponing it.

My midwife advised me to wait until after 20 weeks. She said flu won't cause miscarriage and at 20 weeks the baby is fully developed.

Personally I reacted badly the only time I had so wont be having it and our midwife agrees.

Good luck for your decision.

Yeah agree with you googleyes, I ended up having a fever a week later and completely forgot I should not sweat it out, that is what i did, went under my duvet shivering and not putting the two together, flu jab and a fever. Thought it was just cold end result not so good. Next time will definitely not have it in the first trimester. Had it with my 3rd at 24 weeks with no problems though, now I am more sceptic. Once bitten..........
