My recovery took months I was very ill so because I was so ill plus me and my husband were young infact we were both 18 we decided to wait 4 years for another. I'm now 22 and 6weeks pregnant tomorrow so I'm worried incase I develop pre eclampsia again. Does anyone have any advice on this thanks.

What are my chances of developing pre eclampsia again?
Hi there,
Sorry to hear that you had souch a tough delivery and recovery last time around. You might find the information about pre eclampsia on the NHS website helpful - this page outlines risk factors for pre eclampisa and what the possible causes are: nhs.uk/Conditions/Pre-eclam...
Best thing to do is probably speak with your GP/midwife about your previous experience as soon as possible, and hopefully you will be fine this time around.
Wishing you all the best!

Hi there, sorry to hear about what you've been through. I can't advise on your chances, but I can tell you what happened to me. In my first pregnancy 8 years ago I developed Pre-E at 24 weeks. I was induced 4 days later as I was becoming very ill. I had a tiny baby boy, and we lost him 11 days later ;( They did tests on me for "sticky blood" syndrome and Lupus in case there was an underlying cause but nothing was found.
I became pregnant again later that year and was monitored very closely all the way through. I was on BP medication, low dose aspirin and had regular BP checks. I went on to have a healthy full-term girl, with no signs of Pre-E at all during the pregnancy.
I am currently 24 weeks pregnant again, on low-dose aspirin only, weekly BP checks and so far no signs of anything untoward.
After the first time, my Consultant told me that it was uncommon to get it again, but that first-time pregnancies, and pregnancies with a new partner it was more common. They couldn't say what my chances were though.
Good luck, and best wishes x
