Can't quite believe how tired I am!!!

Hi everyone,

I'm still in first trimester and have been tired on and off but this week has taken tiredness to another level. I'm falling asleep at 7pm every night and I could easily go for a nap at work at 3pm.

Anyone else experience this tiredness?

Thanks,

:-) xx

Yes!! Don't worry, when you're done making the placenta you'll get your energy back :)

First trimester is worst for tiredness - it's perfectly normal to feel totally shattered most of the way through. Second trimester is way better, but the last trimester can be tiring because of the extra load (you're not only carrying the weight of the baby, placenta, but also extra fluid, extra blood volume, extra breast tissue and I think I've missed something). So there's an end in sight to this level of tired!! Hang in there.

I too am also extremely tired.

I literally fall to sleep at 9pm and have to struggle to get up at 7.30am and then by 11.30am I am struggling to stay awake at work.

I cannot wait for a few weeks when i can be normalish again and start to tell people that I am preggers and not just lazy :0D

Sachet of 'Spatone' in a glass of orange juice twice daily... Works like a miracle! Can be purchased at larger chemists or supermarkets. Completely safe during pregnancy.

I would be careful with taking iron supplements such as spatone unless advised by your doctor, iron like any vitamin supplements taken in too high a dose is dangerous for you and for baby. Whilst it is known to be safe to take during pregnancy, you are probably already taking a vitamin supplement. An iron deficiency can cause extreme exhaustion so that is why many women in pregnancy benefit from taking an iron supplement. But ask your doctor to check your iron levels first.
