2/5 engaged - does that mean baby's on his way?

I had a midwife appointment today and she said that the baby has 2/5 of his head engaged. Any ideas/experience of what this means in terms of whether the baby is on his way or doesn't this mean a lot? I am 37 weeks...

I still had to wait an age after my baby's head started to be engaged! It means the baby is moving into the correct position, so it's good news. But you just have to wait until labour starts before you know the baby is on his way. Why don't you phone your midwife and ask for clarification? I'm sure she'll be happy to explain what it means (or doesn't!) in terms of progress / timing.

I was told I was 3/5 engaged two weeks ago so it can take a while. Like rmh says, I think it just means they're getting into position. I am 40 weeks tomorrow so desperate for her to come out asap. Think it's making me imagine symptoms though lol. Good luck.
