My husband and i have recently started trying for a baby and i'm not sure if i'm pregnant or if its too soon. I believe my priod is late and have been feeling rubbish for a week now, exhausted, queasy and some headaches. Have done 2 tests that both say "not pregnant", could i be pregnant or am i just ill?
Thank you

If you've only recently started trying, contraception changes can cause hormone imbalances that can mimic pregnancy symptoms. Also, no matter how exciting it is to try for a baby, there is a lot of pressure and stress that comes along with the waiting each month to see the result. And stress is both the enemy of conception, and seems to me to duplicate some 'pregnancy' symptoms (perhaps stress and spikes in emotions can also cause hormone level blips??).
Test again when you are a week late, and if you still don't have your period, speak to your GP.
But more importantly, relax and enjoy!!! Trying for a baby can take a long time for some couples, so get into the mind-set that it will take some time. That way, if it doesn't happen too soon, you won't go through the nasty emotional swings each month. And if it does happen soon, it'll be a lovely bonus!
