Had miscarriage before and just found out I'm pregnant again, very worried as no sickness yet and feeling quite dizzy.

I had a miscarriage a few years ago now which was devastating for me, now I'm pregnant again probably only 4-5 weeks, I don't know for certain as I have irregular periods. I'm petrified it will happen again as I done the best I possibly could last time round. I'm feeling quite dizzy at the moment, is this normal? And no sickness as of yet which I did not have before and was told at the time that this can be a sign of miscarriage to come.

Not feeling sick in early pregnancy may just mean you are lucky!! Don't take it as a bad sign.

And please understand that the vast majority of early miscarriages result from chromosomal abnormalities, and almost never from anything you have done or not done. I know it doesn't help at all with the grief or the worry for subsequent pregnancies. But it's really important to state it, and really important that you remember it!

My last pregnancy ended in miscarriage, and (even through the grief) I consoled myself that my body was making the best possible decision that it could at the time (and yet I still found time to nit-pick over whether I should have done this or not done that!!). Be kind to yourself through this pregnancy, and trust your body to know when a pregnancy is right to progress.

This pregnancy, I worried my way through to 20-ish weeks when I could feel regular movements of the baby. But really, all the signs were that everything was ok, and I would rather have enjoyed the first half of my pregnancy. So try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy.

Take care

PS - I never get anything much by way of sickness through pregnancies - only very occasional, very mild nausea later in the first trimester. And I found that the mild nausea is easy enough to banish by having a handful of dried fruit and nuts - gave my tummy something else to think about and put me back on track.

Hi Bell, I am twelve weeks pregnant and have been sick twice only, first time at nine weeks. I was pregnant with twins and lost one. The first sign was bleeding and pain. As for dizziness, I feel dizzy quite a lot. Try to think of lack of sickness as a positive. Good luck. Xx

Awww guys your support is so much appreciated. I know I should try to enjoy it but I have wanted this to happen for sooooo long its unreal. I went to the doctors on monday and all I got in way of support from him was "aww well don't get your hopes up its early days yet" needless to say I will never be seeing that doctor again lol. Next hurdle....telling the boss, I have only just been put on a permanent contract in July although I have been with the company a year. How did you guys tell your boss and what was their reactions? xx
