One of the best methods is to monitor your BBT, that way you will be able to predict when your most fertile days are. You probably need to do it for a few months so that you get an accurate picture. There are plenty of sites that explain everything fully.

I was in the same position in the spring of last year and tried the ovulation kit but quickly got fed up with it as I found it raised my expectations too high making the arrival of my period even more difficult. My husband and I decided just to stick to the traditional advice of having sex every two to three days. I am happy to say I am expecting my first child any day now - wishing you the same luck.

Thank your for your reply.... Yeah i decided to ditch the sticks last night and try the more fun approach like yourselves, thats lovely to hear best of luck to you both.

Well done honey! I used them once and found them useless to be honest. Taking your temp is really good, but the less you stress and think about it the easier it will happen. And yes that is the last thing that you want to hear but its true.

Relax, have fun and it will happen. Trust me- it works. I'm 5 weeks now xx

Good luck

i, i have heard that once the hormone peaks the result can show as negative within 12 hours...people have recommended that you test twice daily if you get results like yours on other forums..therfore your window of ovulation is smaller than others

Thank you thats good to know, i never knew that before i'm trying to stay off the internet as you can read so many conflicting things but this is really helping

Ah Muffin- it can be really confusing can't it! One article says one thing and another contridicts it..........

Can I ask how long you have been trying for?

Not too long to be honest as ongoing with genetics but they can't give us answers to be honest so just taking our chances really!! Bcos we won't get results from then until the end of the year, which is the worst part as i can't put it to rest as never sure when the hospital is going to phone again with another appointment

Hi Muffin77,

I had exactly the same issue yesterday! All the info seems quite confusing but what I can decipher is that some people have a positive result with ovulation kits for only 24 hours (like you and I). So I suggest if you have the same thing next month have sex that day and the following day (just to make sure) whilst having regular sex.

Also, in my two previous pregnancies I conceived on the 11th and 12th days and I didn't have sex for 7 days after both so I suggest sex on those days as well.

Good luck!
