Just thought i would offer my services here as i am a HypnoBirthing mum and i am Chair of the UK HypnoBirthing Board.

If you are considering HypnoBirthing for the birth of your baby wherever you are in the UK i may be able to answer any of your questions.

I had a fabulous hypnobirthing experience for my second child. I bought the Natal Hypnotherapy CDs (from NCT Shop as it happens) and listened to them most nights from about week 34. Got my husband to read the notes and listen as well. I found myself really looking forward to the birth process and didn't really feel the labour until 90 minutes before baby was born. Came out of the whole experience thinking "I could do that again!".

Hi, I am 39 weeks tomo and am hypnobirthing. I have been practising loads and feel really confident, calm and happy but i have a few questions. I am an inquisitive person and i emailed my hypno teachera few times to ask her some things and in the end she seemed to get annoyed and told me i was over thinking things which upset me a bit so I hope you don't mind if i ask you a few things that have been on my mind!?!

1. I have been practising relaxation from about 23 weeks but it is always laying down in bed and now i can barely finish listening to the tapes. Everyone says keep mobile and upright during labour but this is not how i have been relaxing, what should i do?

2. I am having trouble with the glove of protection/ hand numbing thing. Any tips?

3. Lastly, is there a chart or a list of what i should be doing and when. There are so many techniques and i am a bit confused as to what to do when. I probably m over thinking it and should just go with what I feel like at the time and leave my birthing to my body and my baby but just wondered what you think.

Thanks so much and sorry to bother you!

Hi Charlotte i hope this reaches you in time.

1. As of now practise your relaxations in differents positions. On the day listen to your body. Some HB mums choose to stand, sit or lye...your body will tell you.Trust it!

2.Forget the glove now.If it doesnt work for you focus on another script instead.I never used the glove during my HB.

3.Pracise the Surge breathing and LTM untill the cows come home...its whats gonna get you through and keep you in control and focussed.2 relaxations a day now..time to live and breathe it and affirmations on constantly.

Happy HypnoBirthing!!
