Trouble getting pregnant second time round?

Has anyone had trouble conceiving after their first baby? Starting to feel like it's only us...

It's not only you CleanSocks. We're in exactly the same position, but expected for it to be a bit harder as we are both 40. I know we don't have infertility issues (except for the age factor). But I've been told that even for women in their 20s (i.e. prime fertility state) they only have 25% chance to get pregnant every month if they are trying. So it may just be sit and wait! And having one already is a bit of a gift in itself (that's how we're approaching it anyway).

Hi i tried for 7 years to have my second child, the doctor advised me to start taking folic acid and i have done this every day for the last 3 months and was waiting to get sent for tests as i thought something was up my appointment is in 2 weeks but i have just found out im 8 weeks pregnant, so chin up i know how you feel but it will happen eventually : )

Wow - 7 years! It's been just over two for us. Already had drugs and advice chucked at us by the NHS, but nothing happening so far.

We weren't 'careful' for 8 months before conceiving our second. On the month we conceived we had both reduced the amount of alcohol we drink, I'd stopped drinking coffee, had been taking a pre-pregnancy multivitamin, including folic acid. I'm now 7 weeks! Relax, stop worrying about it and it will happen!

We are trying for over a year now, no luck , taking multivitamins now... hope it helps.
