4+3 with baby no. 2 - anyone at similar stage?

Hi guys

I’ve just found out I’m pregnant with baby no.2 (yay!!), my first is 25 months. Looking for ladies in a similar position who’d maybe like to chat.

It took almost 3 years to conceive my first with unexplained infertility, and I’m so shocked (and immensely grateful/lucky) that baby no.2 happened first go (and literally the only go! 😂), what the hell!!! I made some great online friends during my last pregnancy and we got each other through all the ups and downs.

Xx

Hi. I’m 10+5 with my second and have an 18 month old LB. Live in Leicester. Congratulations on your pregnancy. The body is an amazing thing, we had similar experience, although 7months with first and first go with second, we too were shocked!

Feeling sick and tired but really happy to be pregnant again! How about you?

Awww the nausea and tiredness is hard isn’t it. I got both bad last time from week 6 to 16. So far I’m just a bit tired and crampy but like you so happy to be pregnant again. Not sure it’s fully sunk in. Expected a long journey like last time. Have you told many people? Mustn’t be long til your scan?

I’m showing quite obviously so people have guessed, but have also told some family. Not everyone yet though. Shouldn’t be too long for scan but still not had the appointment through, which is frustrating.

Yeah my sickness didn’t kick in til about week 7/8 but since then it’s been constant. Didn’t have it so bad last time but the tiredness has been real in both!!!

Have you shared your news with anyone yet?

That’s lovely! we waited a while to tell people last time as we were so scared something bad would happen but I wish I hadn’t waited as I could have done with talking about it and having people excited for me. Have only told 2 friends, one is 6 weeks pregnant. Going to book an 8 week private scan and if all ok I’ll tell family :)

Ah, I’m in Scotland and they do things a bit different than England with appointments - I’ve got my 12 week scan booked for 15 April. First Midwife appointment on 29 March.

Going out today for my little boy’s friend’s 2nd birthday, I reaaaaally want to tell the girl’s mum as she’s a good friend but I’ll wait as don’t want to take any attention away from the little girl’s birthday :)

Hope you’re able to rest lots? The tiredness is so tough, how are you managing your toddler with that? I’m pretty nervous about that, last time I was so exhausted I had to go off work and spent most days in bed for several weeks, can’t do that this time!

People knew we were going to start trying this time so shared with those who knew. We only told parents and a couple of very close friends with our first. Work was the trickier one but they know now too. I think having the support and ppl to talk to during the whole first trimester is so important and if something were to happen I’d want their support too, so no point keeping it a secret. That’s my opinion anyway.

I didn’t have booking appointment until last friday when I was almost 10 weeks, thought I’d have had appointment for scan through this week but nothing so far.

I went back to work full time in September so have that, final year of a degree and toddler! The struggle is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before lol. Early mornings, lots of help from hubby and inlaws, and a tolerant boss are app helping, but by 9pm at the very latest (read 7.30-8 when the toddler is bedtime compliant) I’m in bed too, or asleep on the sofa trying desperately hard to have a bit of chill out time in front of the tv!

Are you working?

Hi there. I am 5 weeks today with my 3rd. I also have an 18 year old son (had him very young) and a 12 month old daughter. I haven't yet told my partner we definitely weren't planning another so soon and we're not really ready but it must be meant to be as we only did the deed once all month and it was days before I ovulate. Anyway I'd love some online friends to chat to x

Congrats! That must have been a shock! Definitely meant :) Us too with only doing the deed once all month. I see from your other post you’re breastfeeding, I’m still breastfeeding too and had hoped to have stopped by the time I got pregnant. I’m quite worried about keeping going, the toll on my body and generally how I’ll stop as my son relies on it to get to sleep still. Fab, I’ll send you a wee private message x

Thanks for the suggestion! I’m on Peanut but it’s too early in this pregnancy to have it public. There are lots of people on there that I know. It’s great though, have made some fab friends on it.

That's awesome. I know a friend who was trying for 8 years and after the last chance of ivf it happened and got pregnant with other frozen empryo. Now their baby is ONE. She found her self pregnant naturally without any assistance and wasn't expecting to be pregnant because she was breastfeeding and conceived naturally !

Wow that’s amazing! It’s such a shock after a long struggle, but a good shock. The body is amazing
