Is this implantation bleeding?

I finished my period on 21 Jan 2022 and had unprotected sex that day as I wasn’t bleeding but that’s when it was due to finish. Todays the 30th Jan and since yesterday I’ve been getting this brown discharge when I wipe on and off. I don’t want to get my hopes up but since yesterday I’ve been feeling nauseous on and off, bloated, hot flushes, and hungry. I’m not due for my period for at least another 2-3 weeks so not sure what this is? Also, I took a pregnancy test today and it was negative but may be too soon to test.

It's very unlikely that you were ovulating the day you finished your period, normally ovulation occurs around a week after your period finishes. Do you track your cycles and ovulation?

Unless, her period was not actually her period and it was implantation bleeding, this would tie in with the dates and the now brown discharge/cramps. 🤔 Take another test in a few days Renee 🤞🏻

I'd second what previous reply said. Even if you had really short cycles, 9 days wouldn't likely be enough time for your follicular phase of your cycle, for a healthy egg to ripen/mature and release plus an average of 5-10 days is usually needed for implantation. Never say never, but unlikely!

Could it be "mid-cycle" spotting/bleeding? If this is something you've never experienced before and you're not just recently off of contraception/meds to account for a strange cycle, I'd be tempted to discuss with GP. Xx

Hi LizzieThanks, yeah never experienced this before and not coming off contraception but have been taking new medication just before Christmas and coming off some others so may be the cause.

Hello, I experienced dark discharge basically black/ brown for the first time before I found out I was pregnant however it was a very small amount and I only saw it once. I am now 18 weeks pregnant and when I track the date of conception it does not add up and would mean I conceived around the time my period was due so although maybe unlikely due to the science it definitely is possible in my case.
