Brownish discharge when I wash my private part

Pls am 5wks pregnant, yesterday I notice a brownish mucus when I washed my private part is it normal? This is my first time am scared have been so worried pls help a sister

It sounds like old blood mixed with your natural discharge.has anything else happened since you wrote your post?

No pains still the brownish discharge I went to the hospital for scan the Dr said the baby is fine

It’s very common to get some brown discharge at the beginning. It’s normally just old blood flushing itself out of your body, but keep an eye on it, if your worried speak to your midwife/doctor. I had it on and off for several weeks up until about 9 weeks if I remember correctly and my baby is growing perfectly fine and I’m now nearly 24 weeks 😊. They normally say aslong as there’s no bright red fresh blood and severe stomache pain that things are okay but of course that isn’t always the case for everyone so definitely speak to a professional to put your mind at ease 👍. I had this too but about a week later than you and was sent to Early Pregnancy Unit for a scan.. all was ok! They said that it could’ve been implantation bleeding. Generally if blood is brown then it means also blood which is generally fine, but it’s always good to get checked over by a midwife/doctor if you experience any kind of bleeding. Glad everything was ok for you and congratulations on your pregnancy!! X
