Pregnant but don’t feel like it

So I’m 11.4 weeks in my pregnancy I had a scan last week as midwife booked in for dating but was to early I saw baby and heart beat. But for some reason this week I just don’t feel pregnant. Had no pains just normal growing pains like in my last pregnancy. But just think it could be my mind playing games as in my last pregnancy I said lost one my twin in the early stages. Could it just be my mind playing games I’ve got my actual dating scan next week. But also I keep waking up ever on my back or on my right. As I read it best to lay on your left side whilst sleeping could this hurt the baby or will baby be fine.

I didn't feel pregnant for ages, I felt the need for private scans just to 'check' it was still there as we had an early loss on our first go. xxx

It a horrid feeling. It’s hard as I don’t feel like I’m being monitored closely after the issue we have had with past pregnancy. Just looking for scan places near me to book a scan as don’t think I can wait till next week

I ended up having to try to make it through the day hour by hour so I didn't book more scans. the worry is terrible, but you will work through this and if scans help then let them scan away. I was proud that we didn't use our last scan in the package. And all was well... currently just been through a meltdown because he didn't have a sausage in his spaghetti 🙄❤️♥️ all the best xxx

I've only been pregnant the once and am at 20 weeks now, so maybe my experience is limited, but its only now I have started to feel movement and my bump is getting bigger that i start to recognise that I'm truly pregnant! Ive had 2 scans and the baby is there and growing as expected (always a relief!), but I dont feel that different. Certainly at about 12 weeks I felt even more 'normal'. I think this does happen at the end of the first trimester (I was also lucky as had no morning sickness) I'm sure everything is fine for you too, but at least the option of a private scan is there if you need it. Good luck x

Also dont worry too much about how you sleep. I kept finding I was ending up on my back as my left hip really hurts when I sleep now. I also sleep on my right points in the night to alleviate the pain. The best thing I found to help is to use carefully placed pillows to prop me over on one side/ protect my hip.

I felt the same!! I had my son 13 years ago and then I miscarried 9 years ago, I’m now 36 wks with my baby girl but I have an anterior placenta (at the front) so didn’t feel any kicks etc until about 24 weeks. I went for early scans privately ,even though I was assured after my miscarriage they would keep an eye on me and scan me early. I just didn’t feel pregnant and I didn’t get a bump until about week 22ish so it really played horrible mind games with me. You constantly feel like something is wrong or it’s not progressing, I feel like I’ve been pregnant for forever now because I’ve been so anxious and counted every single day as well as weeks. Try not to stress or worry you’ll soon be complaining the baby is keeping you awake all night kicking, using your bladder as a cushion and you feel like you a small crane to roll you from one side to another. Also they do advise to sleep on your left because of blood flow but they also say if you wake on your back just roll on to your side and don’t worry especially in the first trimester. Good luck with the pregnancy, sending positive vibes!! 😁

Thank you yes was told they will keep eye on my pregnancy but they done nothing right at moment so my mind towards the team at moment not very open. As had like you had miscarriages ,Infertility issues, pco was told in first pregnancy they keep eye the lost one twins. But my special little girl keeps me busy in the day always making me laugh with what she learning. So I’m hoping she will help me not panic as much. Xx

I think this is quite normal, towards the end of the first trimester I felt so normal that I was convinced I couldn’t be pregnant anymore even though like you I had no pain or bleeding etc, but everything was completely fine and I’m now nearly 23 weeks and minus the fact my tummy is bigger I still get days where I don’t really feel pregnant especially as I don’t feel movement every single day to reassure me. It is hard not to let our minds over worry, but just try your best and if you can afford it then private scans at them in between scan stages are really helpful 😊. And regarding sleeping on your back, I believe it’s not actually that important until after 20 something weeks (I can’t remember the exact week), they just recommend it earlier so you can try and get into a routine before hand, no one can control how they move in there sleep so if you wake up in the night just turn back onto your side when you can. Good luck! Hope everything goes well with you and your little one x
