40+1 with grade3 piles opt for c-section?

So the piles seem to have come back with a vengeance and now I’m obviously worried about trying to give vaginal birth as that will just make them worse. Thinking of electing for c-section. I don’t want to end up with worse piles and not being able to give birth vaginally and ending up having to have a c-section anyway! So am thinking of asking for a c-section. Any medics here able to advise? I have been trying to do the sitz baths but doesn’t seem to be working now (worked previously when they were not as bad earlier in this pregnancy, never had them before!) Germoline absolutely pointless, doesn’t seem to be doing anything. Not before, not now. Sitz bath was the only thing that worked when they were not as bad.

Speak to your gp, there are better suppository meds you can be prescribed that may be more effective, they aren't licensed in pregnancy but an understanding gp is likely to prescribe on an informed consent risk/benefit basis as they are likely to be a very low risk medication to take.

Yes, I just spoke to the GP and that’s exactly what he’s doing ☺️ Still concerned about the whole vaginal birth vs c-section thing but waiting to get a 2nd opinion as the consultant I spoke to yesterday is refusing and is suggesting an induction for Saturday. She was less than pleasant so I’m not sure she has our best interests at heart 🤷🏼‍♀️

Fingers crossedRemember ultimately you do get a choice and they should respect this, they just need to ensure you are fully informed. Personally I'd be asking them about the risks of induction as it's often skimmed over, but i may be biased in this regard as I had a horrendous experience with induction gone wrong with my first that ended in an emergency section. Id rather have an elective section any day of the week rather than risk another emergency one

Yes! I absolutely hear you. I am waiting to speak to someone about my options. I haven’t give up on requesting a c-section. I’ve looked up the NICE guidelines and it clearly states they are supposed to follow a protocol and not just point blank refuse a c-section.
