Feeling low after 2nd induction.

I went for my 38 week check up and they advised me that my blood pressure was high and I would need to go to the hospital to be monitored. I am on day 4 of being in hospital after 2 inductions and continuous monitoring but still no baby. I am really struggling now and feel so low I just want to take my baby home or go home myself. My blood pressure is high still and they are monitoring and treating it. Has anyone else been in this situation?

Hello! Being in hospital is not much fun so hard to get sleep too. I had high blood pressure too and was closely monitored. My induction did work but I ended up have a c section. I was prepped for a csection too. Have you discussed this as an option maybe talk to the doctor about it tomorrow? Even if you don’t want to go down that route ask to speak to someone about what the next steps/options are. It’s tricky on the weekend as there aren’t always as many staff around. Fingers crossed for you. I remember how hard a time I found it. Xx

I had high blood pressure with both my babies. The first I was in at week 40 and I was induced but had complications at the pushing stage and ended up with an emergency csection. I was in hospital for 5 days before I finally got him and 2 days after. With my second I had already opted for an elective but went into hospital with high blood pressure at 36 + 6. My blood pressure wouldn't settle so they finally decided to bring my csection forward and I had him at 37+4 but was in hospital just waiting so I understand your frustration. I didn't get out of hospital until my second was nearly 6 days old. I missed my eldest so much but they wouldn't let me out. Different doctors had different opinions on the best way to care for me after my baby was born. I started to feel really low and missed my eldest so much. None of which helped my blood pressure. But as soon as I was let out my BP even though still a little high did stabilise and after a few weeks did return to normal. You're baby will be here soon, safe and sound. Hope they let you go home not long afterwards! Good luck!

Hi there, I'm sure being stuck in the hospital isn't helping your blood pressure. As someone else advised ask to speak with someone on the next steps as that will give you some guidance and hopefully ease some of the frustration. You're almost there soon you'll have your baby. Don't get down now x wishing you all the best xx

I had an induction, but mine went fairly smoothly, I had the pessary for 24 hours, then went on the hormonal drip which started my contractions. Can you maybe ask to speak to your midwife or consultant as to what your next steps are in terms of progress and options available to you? Good luck with everything xx

Thank you all for the replies, I have been talking to my consultant and midwife today. We have all decided that a c section will be better for me and the baby so I will be meeting him later today. Cannot wait to meet him and head home in the coming days. Xxx
