7 month old not interested in food

Morning ladies

I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips. My 7month seems not to like food. At 1st she was fine. On pureed veg. But now she makes a fuss and cries for a bottle. The only thing she likes is the carrot puff sticks. I don't want to do baby lead weaning. Thanks x

They will only have small amounts at this age, so you can't expect them to be having loads. Milk is their main calorie intake till age 1. Maybe try food after a bottle or when she's not too hungry/tired.

Forgot to mention. My LO has severe reflux and is now on lansoprazole and gaviscon x

Don't be disheartened. They say food before 1 is just for fun. Just take it easy, try once a day and give different purees and a cup of water. At 7 months she will only eat maybe one table spoon worth, you can check online for some guidance but I really wouldn't worry. Let her play with it, give her the spoon etc it's just to get her used that there's more tu life than just milk haha. Remember.. I've never heard of an 18 year old struggling to eat. There's so much pressure on this moment but just take it easy and do what works for you and her x

My first didn’t eat any solids until she was 8.5 months and she is now almost 6 years and super healthy - don’t worry!

Also don’t stress too much about the ‘purée vs baby led’, there are no rules. Go with baby, if they show interest in grabbing from your plate maybe try with some things they can hold as well as purée.

If your reluctance to do any baby led is a choking fear then I’d recommend doing a baby first aid course to make you feel a bit more confident x

Hi I'm having the same experience with my little girl who is 7.5 months. I have made veg and fruit purees and frozen them. She gets it on her hands and she tastes the tiniest amount and looks disgusted! I'm not sure whether to keep trying every day so I've been trying every few days. I'm not keen on baby led weaning either. My mum bought her some banana puff things which she doesn't seem keen on either and I tried a piece of avocado but again she wasn't keen.

Obviously personal choice, but what is it about baby led that puts you off? You can do a mix of finger foods and purées, it doesn’t ever have to be one or the other. Or maybe giving baby a spoon of their own to play with in a little bit of purée on the high chair tray. There really is no rush with it, just go at babies pace and keep offering x

What do you mean a ‘deep dive’?
