I’m a week and 2 days overdue. I have had a sweep and still nothing. I have done squats, spicy food and walking with a bounce in my step and he’s still not budged. Help! I also suffer from hip dysplasia and PGP.

Are they offering you and induction? I had that with no. 3 at 10 days and he was born +11.

Yep. I had a sweep on Saturday morning but nothing yet. I have another sweep tomorrow morning and if nothing happens then on the 17th I’ve been booked in for the cooks balloon induction xxx

Your midwife should have offered an induction. All that old wives tale stuff is nonsense! I was 10 days over with my first and induced. Good luck

Yes I did think all of those things are nonsense but now I’m at the point where I just want to hold my baby in my arms so I’m just testing them out. My midwife also encouraged me to have a bounce in my step when I walk. I’m also in a lot of pain with my hip dysplasia and pgp. Thank you ♥️

Speak to your midwife as she should book you in either for another stretch & sweep at 41 weeks then an induction. I.was 40 weeks +3 days then booked in for a 41 week induction. However I caught an infection as baby had done a meconium (1st poo) inside me so went in before 41 weeks then they induced me & had a c section as baby got too big & other factors... there can be risks if u leave it too late like myself so push on it. My body showed absolutely no signs of labour even after my 1st sweep,

So basically, my midwife didn’t book me in for one at all. She went on annual last week as well so one of her colleagues contacted me on Friday and asked me if I was booked in for a sweep. I said no and she then told me my midwife should have booked this in when I turned 40 weeks. I had a sweep on Saturday and I will have another sweep tomorrow and the if that doesn’t work the I have been booked for the 17th for cooks balloon induction xxx

Ah right I'm glad you have something planned now . Strangely my midwife went on annual leave too at 40 weeks so I had another midwife I've never met do my sweep at my house. You sort of feel abit lost at the end...Wish you all the best

In the area I am in they dont offer induction till 42 weeks if there are no signs of distress in mum or baby. So this could be why you havent been offered one yet. I am not sure any of the things work babies come when they are ready, also its just an estimate due date based on scan measurements. Both of mine of came when we thought they were due based on when I ovulated, which in my 2nd one was 6 days later than my estimated due date. My midwife was even surprised that she didnt look like a baby who was born late. I know at this point you just want to meet them but relaxing and trying to enjoy the last bit before they arrive is probably all you can do. Good luck.

Yes I don’t really believe in old wives tale. I believe he will come when he comes but I am getting anxious. This is my first. I have also had a few problems during pregnancy like having to have open operation. I also have polycystic ovary syndrome so my due date change twice ( they are very very irregular )
