Antibiotics for skin condition

I had a miscarriage in mid December confirmed around 6 weeks. Not yet had my period. My doctor prescribed me some antibiotics but said to do a pregnancy test before taking them as they don't want me to take them if I'm pregnant. I have done a pregnancy test this morning and it's negative. Do I wait until my period to take antibiotics just in case it's really early days. I really don't want another miscarriage.

It can take quite a while for your periods to come back after a miscarriage, your hormones can tend to be all over the place. If your antibiotics are for something urgent then it might be important to start them as soon as possible. Can you ask your doctor for antibiotics that would be ok to take if you are pregnant?

The doctor has given me 'pregnancy safe' antibiotics but they said not to take if pregnant because they risk miscarriage in very early pregnancy which is the reason why I cautious to take them. I will speak to doctor again on Monday. Thanks
