Regular growth scans

Hiya I've been having regular growth scans due to small baby in past but last growth scan it looked like my baby had dropped after accessing me as a person I realise I haven't been eating as much there are times when there's none of my food available I don't eat a lot of things and result to eating the kids food and there are times where I just say I'm not hungry I don't know what to have and have an orange juice there are times when I just feel full or tired and finding I'm exhausted to eat I woke up and thought today I have to force myself to eat it's clear I'm smaller than any other pregnancy and it's making me feel terrible I don't want a baby what's too small has anyone else had this sort of issue

*note please can I only have relevant support or advice on here related to my post as it's a support forum and I'm sick of posting and getting horrible comments when I'm here for support and relevant advice.

Could you try something high in calories like Complan? You drink it so don't have to eat as such but still get calories into you. Or something like protein shakes? Or you could make your own, I like avocado, banana with almond milk and mixed berries, you could also add a scoop of protein powder to it. They're quick to make and a good way to get lots of calories into you quickly.

Maybe have a chat with your midwife to see if that's anything she can suggest that might help too.

Good luck x

Thankyou I do have a box of that in but didn't know if it was safe while pregnant I will ask my midwife thanks x

I have been going through this the last week or so (I have flu!) so not the same but I haven’t been able to eat a thing. I like soup so my husband has been sneakily adding extra protein and veg sources. I’ve also found that I’ve enjoyed plain rice. Not sure what foods you like. Have you spoken to your Dr maybe they can give you some supplements? Sorry I don’t have any specific advice but I hope it gets better :)

I'm anemic aswell so isn't helping I just feel exhausted all the time I'm taking 2 tabs a day for it . I've found rice quite helpful aswell as it's bulky.just had something now and just feel full and tired it's not a nice feeling was planning on going out today For last minute crimbo bits. but it just wipes all my energy

Awww same I have low iron but can’t get an appointment with my Dr to get iron tablets. How are you with movement? Some slow relaxing stretching gives me a bit of a pump some days. We are in tier 4 so no outside shopping here :) don’t feel bad if you need to rest or are tired you are allowed to be human!

Aww apparently my anemia was flagged up in my blood test so they instantly gave me a course of tablets in hospital I only went for a scan.😂lol .ive always had anemia in pregnancy unfortunately.I've been trying to organise a few things in the house to give me a burst like that draw that's overflowing or those few pots in the sink what need washing trying to keep on top of everything as much as I can.i just wanted to get a few food bits I'm done with pressies not actually sure what tier I'm in lol 😂 I don't go out much if I can help it anyway as midwife said it's riskier as pregnancy progresses. In fact I might try some soup later thanks for idea ❤️❤️

Hi Afrohair! I had to gain about a stone before commencing on IVF as I was naturally underweight (my entire life!). I found milk and milkshakes are the easiest ways to get calories in to your body if that helps! And much easier than food! x

Ooooh gosh, I don't know. Sorry! I don't know much about how calorific almond milk is. I assume it's healthier! Which probably doesn't help.

They sell premixed dairy free shakes, alpro chocolate is my favourite, they also sell vanilla, strawberry etc, they also do an oat and chocolate one, they’re really good! X

Hi x try oat milk - have more calories and is rich. I would advice a good organic protein shake - I’m taking sunwarrior chocolate and vanilla is very good . I don’t eat a lot as well - normally I do two meals and one snack during afternoon. The protein shake with banana, oat cereals, oat milk, chia and some berries is very good in the morning :) x

I can only eat gluten free oats 😆I told you I have a funny diet lol that's why sometimes it's so hard to get stuff in me but I could use gluten free oats and almond milk I've just bought some porridge so I can have more of that to fill me up I sometimes have it with strawberry and banana and I could make my own milk with gluten free oats.organic sounds good I can do organic thanks for your recommendation x

It's so difficult meal planning when you don't eat a lot of things and cook something different for everyone in house

Yes true but I got used to it and my husband already changed a few things because of me :)

Hay

I was the same think it's being pregnant with a girl. I struggled the whole way through to eat and like yourself had regular growth scans. On the two previous scans so for 8 weeks, she had dropped slightly, however, I gave birth a few days ago and was in utter shock she was 7ib 8!! The baby will take all the nutrients she needs from you. I had a hot chocolate, marshmallows and cream every morning and I think it helped haha. Don't be too hard on yourself!

If you take a pregnancy supplement that will make sure baby is getting all the nutrients. Maybe have things like soup or small meals little and often. If you are struggling to get food ask about your local food bank.Make sure you drink plenty of water.
