Stopping smoking

I’m on day 18, I am all over the place. I feel forgetful at times and just have moments I feel so awful in myself. My skin is worse, I’ve put weight on. I don’t know how to handle the cravings. I’ve got a vape and nicotine patches, can anyone advise anything more that could work please?

Accept it as part of the process of giving up smoking. Bad skin a bit of weight on, is still much better than smoking. Your brain is getting over an addiction it's not easy but it's gets easier each day. I'd stop the vape and patches as you're still getting nicotine and won't stop crabbing it till it's completely out of your system. Each time you have some you'll only want now.

Hi, I quit smoking over 4 years ago now after reading a book by Allen Carr, the easy way to stop smoking. I never thought, even whilst reading it, that I'd actually be able to quit! I highly recommend it. The only thing is that you need to still be smoking when you read it so if you're pregnant it's probably not the best approach. If you're not though maybe you can give it a try.

Good luck xx

Don't worry about your skin and weight gain at the moment, these will sort themselves out once you are past the cravings etc. Get some nice moisturiser and keep exercising, also drink plenty of water.

Also don't stop the nicotine patches, they will be lessening your cravings and keeping the worst of the withdrawal symptoms at bay. If you are really struggling with the urge to smoke then go back to your gp (or midwife if you're pregnant) and get them to check you're on the dose and they can also advise when it's best to reduce that dose as you overcome the addiction to nicotine.

Go easy on yourself, you're doing a great thing by quitting, it's not easy but you can do it! There's lots of help out there so take advantage of it.

If you have any strong cravings try to distract yourself by doing something out of routine, a spontaneous walk to the park for example.

Good luck xx

For me, i am considering vaping to help with the cravings.

You can not take this drug while you're pregnant or get it without a prescription from your doctor so it's probably very dangerous to advise pregnant woman to look on websites to get drugs which they can't take during pregnancy. Looking at some of your other replies you also seem to have issues with erectile disfunction and spam with links to drug websites there too so I have a feeling your input may not be legitimate and I have reported your profile.
