Your mid wife will let you know about those on your first appointment at 8th week. My Midwife recommended me Pregnacare (19 vitamins and minerals ) one. Most essential is folic acid. You can pick up Pregnacare or folic acid before midwife refers you further. The GP and midwife always first recommend to improve your diet to get maximum nutrients naturally. Good Luck :)

Any pregnancy supplement will do. Apart from folic acid you also need vitamin d in it. You need folic acid 400mcg unless you have a high BMI then you need 5mg via gp.

Here in Scotland we get given folic acid and vit D supplements from midwives throughout pregnancy...so thats most important ones...

I've been taking Pregnacare daily tablets ever since I found out I was pregnant. The midwife said these had everything I needed in them (even during the first trimester when I couldn't eat much food!)

My midwife said I needed a pregnancy supplement that contained folic acid & vitamin D it didn’t have to be pregnancare Tesco’s own version would be just as good. Congratulations on your pregnancy xxx

I took pregnacare max as it contains omega 3 and 500mg of Calcium apart from all the necessary vitamins, if your intake of dairy is low, it is suggested that you also take calcium as Babies take calcium from mothers’ bones if there is an insufficient amount in the food stream, so a well-rounded diet is particularly important to minimize risk for both mom and child

Basically any multivatiamin without vitamin A would work but I've been using Pregancare Plus, the one with Omega and just realized that it doesn't contain any calcium! So I'm taking additional calcium supplements as I'm not a fan of dairy products. Just read the label carefully and congrats! :)

Just a slight warning I have been really sick all of my pregnancy. Hyperemesis until 17 weeks and still sick most days and I’m 36 weeks. My OH noticed I was always sick after I took my pregnacare and he googled it and it’s quite common. I switched to the seven seas brand of pregnancy tablets and it’s so much better. I’m still sick but not as much anymore! Xx
