6weeks 2days positive, in hospital for an appendectomy

Hi all, wanted to know if here is anyone who may have experienced appendicitis during the first trimester, did you have surgery and manage to carry to term?

I'm in so much pain, at first I thought it was an ectopic pregnancy as pain was only on my right hand lower abdomen, once dr rule that out i thought i could breathe again then she said I showed go to hospital for better sonar.

Once there the sonographer said that my appendix is inflamed and will probably have to be removed surgically. I think I blanked out for a second or two..

So I'm currently in hospital awaiting the surgery.. any moms ever experience this?

Hi!

I had an appendectomy but I didn't know I was 6 weeks pregnant! Therefore the surgeons didn't either! I carried my daughter full term with no issues!

However, was is reassuring in your case is they know their is a pregnancy therefore will be able to be more cautious and adapt methods they use. Usually, if they know their is a pregnancy they will avoid that area if possible.
