Hi everyone..I am very stressed looking for some advice

My baby had lot of struggle feeding and had her tongue tie snipped at around 6 weeks of age ..things improved for 2 weeks and now they are worse again and I strongly feel the posterior tie and re attached. The hospital where she was born perform up until 6 weeks..whom should I contact ?

Will there be huge waiting at nhs for repair ?Which team handle it _ she is 8 weeks old.

Anybody could advice any reasonable private service in London for the same ?

Waiting desperately for replies.

Thank you

Have you tried googling a private lip type service in London?

Talk to the hospital or clinic where the tongue tie was snipped ASAP x

I would agree that it’s worth contacting the hospital or clinic who performed the division in the first place.

You might find that they can offer some advice or follow-up assessment.

If you find that they are unable to help, I found the ‘Infant tongue tie UK parent support’ group on Facebook quite informative when my little one was small. I’ve left the group now as it’s no longer relevant to me but someone on there might be able to point you in the direction of a private practitioner in your area.

My daughter had a tongue tie which she got snipped at 3 weeks old and it then reattached. She got it snipped again at 10 weeks old at the same NHS clinic and luckily after that it never reattached. I totally understand how hard it is feeding a baby with a tongue tie. She’s 2 now and I still remember it vividly!! I would definitely phone the clinic that performed the initial division and get some advice. Best of luck xx

Massive thanks to all of you for your responses

I managed to call the midwife who snipped it the first time and got her assessed ..and my guess was right, unfortunately it was re attached... so snipped again..

I just hope it stays this time

@Lou9 so glad that it worked the second time for you.. what exercises you did post procedure?

Oops, just read that you actually got it already sorted. That's great news!

Hi,

I had my daughter's tongue tie snipped through a private midwife when she was around 7 weeks or so because I didn't want to wait for weeks to get it done through the nhs. I was living in SW London by then (this was end of last year). This is the page of the midwife gentlebirthsandbeyond.co.uk/. She was brilliant, very professional and sympathetic (I was crying for most of the consultation!) And everything was done in my house.

I got a full list of private midwives that offer this service from the nct breastfeeding support group so maybe you can give them a call (or call the breastfeeding help line) and see if they can send you a list of those operating in your area? I don't know if this midwife covers all London or only SW but I highly recommend her.

Hope it gets better soon (I'm sure it will) xx
