Early Gender Scan

Hello!

Has anyone privately gone for a gender scan at 16 weeks? If so, was it correct and confirmed at your 20 week scan?

I’m worried it’ll be wrong now as I’ve been googling stuff 😂

Thanks xx

Hi Cornish,

Yes I went for a private gender scan at 16 weeks! Wanted my hubby to be able to come 😊

They said girl, confirmed at 20 week scan as well xx

Fab! Thank you! Yes I’ve booked it so my partner can come, as he hasn’t been allowed in any of them yet, so I wanted us to experience it together!

Phew 😂 xx

Yeah it’s rubbish not being able to have them with you, especially if you want to find out!

I had all the same worries though, I was convinced they were going to say it’s actually a boy at my 20 week but they instantly said girl. I think they are pretty accurate these days 😊 xxx

Well I won’t worry so much now 😂 thank you haha xx

I had one at 16 weeks and it was the same result at the 20 week scan. We also booked a private 30 weeks scan and also the same gender x

Hi,

Yes I had a private scan at 16 weeks to find out the gender. I’ve since had quite a few and it’s been confirmed at them all. Enjoy if you go for one - it’s very exciting! X

Hi,

I went for one last year and was so worried about it afterwards as I’d gone for an early scan before a trip to New York and wanted to find out so I could buy some baby clothes ha! I was doing a lot of googling afterwards and a lot of things say it’s very unlikely for them to be wrong if they say it’s a boy because you either can see some male bits or you don’t- so if you see them it most likely is a boy. But when they tell you it’s a girl they can be wrong as they may just not be able to see their parts properly due to the angle, or they’ve developed slower etc. Obviously I got told I was having a girl at a private scan ha, so I was constantly wondering until my 20 week scan whether it was right! I went to my 20 week and pretended I didn’t know the gender and they said girl too so that was a relief and my little girl was born last May :) I’m now pregnant again and going for a private gender scan next week- more because I want my husband to find out at the same time and he obviously can’t come in to the nhs ones atm xx

Hi,

I had an early gender scan last year and was told I was having a girl. At my 20 week scan we were referring to bump as she and about halfway through the sonographer asked if we had an early scan or were just hoping for a girl. She then found a particular angle and asked us to look again at the screen...there were boy parts. We went back to the private place as they offered us another scan for free to confirm and it was reconfirmed that we were having a boy.

We didn’t mind either way and didn’t buy much until later in the pregnancy anyway. The same thing also happened to a friend of mine.

I’m sure they get it right most of the time, and I loved having scans anyway and seeing my bubba.

I think at the moment with all the restrictions it is worth doing so partners can be there xx

Hi, I went for a 16 week scan & was told a girl, at my 20 week scan they confirmed but added in the "its not always 100%" but I'm sticking with girl.

A friend of mine (going back years ago) was told she was having a girl only to give birth to a boy - she was literally speechless for 2 days!

Good luck x
