Hi all,

I own a three storey house and am confused as to where I would need baby gates. Can anyone advise? I assumed at least 4, one at the top and bottom of each staircase?

Thank you x

I suppose it depends where the little one would be, if they're not going to be at the top floor then maybe just at the bottom of that floor, maybe one for the front from or kitchen xx

I had one on the bottom only, mainly because that the only place I left her crawling on her own. I would just close the door if I left for any reason.

It depends where they will be left on their own. My kids can now open doors (@2 and 4)... but took a while as we have knobs on doors rather than handles, but are able to go up and down stairs unaided and safely.

We have one at the top of the stairs for when he's roaming free upstairs, then one at the bottom for when he's roaming downstairs. We've also out one on the kitchen door which goes out to the downstairs loo/utility/conservatory etc as when it's warm we have the back door open so he'd be able to fully escape into the (non child friendly 😫) garden.

Good luck xx

I think it depends on the layout of your house, we’ve got one at top of the stairs. Then one on the living room which runs straight into kitchen/dinner. I have safety locks on my kitchen cupboards and can see them when I’m in kitchen or there in living room.
