Pregrant & What To Do Next

I used clearblue this week on Friday & it said pregrant 3 +. I want to inform the gp to arrange me midwife appointment. I think due to cronovrius circumstances the appointment are getting cancelled. What to do? Any suggestions?

Call them and find out that’s the only way! No one here will know as every local place is different

Hi. Congratulations on your pregancy. Antenatal appointments are still going ahead as they are very important. Give your GP a call to make arrangements. The sooner you are in the system, the better x

Self refer to your local midwife unit. You'll have your booking in appointment at around 8 weeks over the phone and they'll arrange for you to attend the unit for bloods to be taken. No midwife appointments are being cancelled but where possible they're doing telephone appointments.

I had mine done over the phone but bloods have to wait till 12 week scan, where they will take them then.

even before Coronavirus this is what I was told to do. Gp’s don’t want to see you to confirm pregnancy anymore, times have changed. Expect your 1st midwife booking in for 9-10weeks

You need to self refer through your community midwives. Mine had an email address I started the comms off in this way.

If you know which of your local hospitals’s maternity wing you’d be looking to use, go to that hospital’s website and search for maternity or, sometimes, women’s health. There’s usually a link where you can self refer to the midwife team and they’ll contact you a few weeks afterwards. The GPs rarely get involved these days

my midwife app was done over the phone last Monday as they didn't want anyone going into clinic.
