Am I miscarrying???

Based on my lmp I should be almost 9 weeks. At 8 weeks I went to er after noticing red spotting. They did an ultrasound and saw a gestational sac and said I measured around 5 weeks. Said I have miscarriage threat. I’ve had more blood work done they said my hcg levels are still rising. they also said the fact that my blood has been going from red to brown is good because it’s old blood. I have still been spotting red blood Yesterday and today though. It’s been a week of spotting now. I have been having mild lower back pain/ mild cramping/ no clotting. It seems I feel discomfort more before I go to bed. As well as the bleeding and cramping before bed. Am I miscarrying?

Hi did they say to come back for another scan sounds like you might having missed miscarriage and blighted ovum where your body still thinks it’s pregnant but the pregnancy isn’t developing. With my last pregnancy my hcg was rising still but there was no growth I was 12w I had to have a Mva eventually, I was lightly bleeding but no cramps.

No I wasn’t scheduled an appointment for my first ultrasound till 2 weeks from now the only reason I had the first one was at the er. With a missed miscarriage or blighted ovum do quat or quant levels (I forgot why they called it) still rise too? Should they been able to tell if it was a blighted ovum at the ultrasound they measured at 5 weeks?

Usually in the uk the epu if they think your pregnancy is non viable they ask u to come back after 2w to see if there’s growth or incase if they’ve made a mistake. If you are 9w and your measuring 5w unless you’ve got your dates wrong it suggests your baby’s hasn’t developed as it should. My hcg level was 17500 when i was 9w then days later it rose to 25000 but wasn’t doubling so they said it wasn’t looking good.

They physician just called and said my blood work showed my hcg levels are rising and I have no infections. No sign of me miscarrying. Which makes me happy but I still worry about how my bleeding is getting heavier it’s day 8 of bleeding now still red blood. It’s not spotting it’s like a light period now. I’ve had diarrhea today. My cramps are similar to when I’m on my period. Everyday I’m feeling more discomfort at night and more lower back ache and pain. Maybe I am overthinking it and should just let my body take care of whatever is going to happen it’s just hard not trying to get my hopes up but also not trying to think and expect worst

As far as I know spotting is not always harmful. I spoke to women who had bright red bleeding with clots and the pregnancy was fine. About the dates, do you know when you ovulated? It’s possible that you ovulated late that month and implantation happened late. When I had my first scan at 7 weeks they told me it measured 5 and I knew something was wrong because I did ovulation tests and knew exactly when I got pregnant.

I know my lmp dates are correct because I was glad I had my period before a trip me and my boyfriend had to Seattle. I started Oct 25-October 31. If they are correct and I am not is it even possible to get a positive at home pregnancy test at 3 weeks. I had taken one 2 weeks before I went to the er. And they measured 5 weeks. I went to the er dec 19.

Are your hcg levels doubling appropriately or just growing? My levels were growing but not well, at 6 weeks it was over 11000 and two days later 18000. It’s very strange they didn’t offer a scan in a week time, they checked me every week after I went to A&E. I guess maybe it’s because you have your first scan scheduled ‘soon’. Did they see the baby when you had your scan?

The didn’t tell me if the levels are doubling but on the phone the physician said they are rising and no sign of miscarriage or infection. The US showed a gestational sac and that was about all she told me. This is my first pregnancy but I feel everyone I have seen is just kind of telling me if I’m going to miscarry there’s nothing they can do but I don’t really get answers to why maybe my weeks are off why I’m feeling lower back pain at night and cramping and bleeding heavier each day. Maybe there is nothing they can tell me and I just have to wait till the next ultrasound an that will give me more information.

It’s so difficult to not stress and tell myself everything shows I’m okay when I feel worse as the days go on.

I’m so sorry you are going through this. I know very well how worried you feel. It’s important to know numbers in order to understand how it’s progressing. I really hope you have good news on your scan day! That’s when they will tell you if your pregnancy is viable, I truly hope it is!
