Bloating

Hi, I’m definitely only 4wks 6days but I look like I’m 6 months already! My tummy feels so tight and bloated and I look huge! This is my third successful (so far, have had two previous miscarriages) pregnancy and I am an older mum (43) so am wondering if this has anything to do with it? Feeling very uncomfortable! 🥴

I'm so sorry to hear about your losses, it must be very hard to relax this time round. I hope it all goes smoothly for you.

Are you taking progesterone support by any chance? It can make you bloated and constipated, worse even than usual in pregnancy. Hope you're feeling more comfortable soon xxx

Oh gosh, I don’t even know what Progesterone Support is!! I’m taking the Pre-natal vitamins inc Folic Acid?

Thank you for your warm wishes and kind words xxx

I've had awful bloating with all 3 of my pregnancies 😫 I looked huge at the beginning but it did calm down. Pregnancy hormones slow down digestion. It will settle, but it's so uncomfortable in the mean time isn't it.

Congratulations by the way xx

Hello! It is perfectly normal. For the first two months I felt like a whale.. I was very bloated and looked horrible, but it calmed down around 8-10weeks so I wouldn't worry! Good luck x

Congratulations! Yes bloating is not fun but common. I’m 25 weeks with my first one and looked pregnant from day one. Wake up with a flat belly and look 5 months pregnant by the evening. It was very uncomfortable in the first trimester but got much better in the second. I am 39 and also suffered a miscarriage before this pregnancy but doubt this is age related as a good friend of mine had the same years ago when pregnant with her first and she was then much younger. At least you won’t have to wait long for that belly to start showing 😊 good luck x
