Missing important milestones of the baby growing

Hello, I’m thinking really ahead (I’m just 4 months pregnant) but if I go back to work after maternity leave when the baby will be 8-9 months old, will I miss important milestones like his first word or his first steps?

Not necessarily, your baby may do some of those at home and our nursery either take videos or tell us what our son is aiming for so, we can do it at home and try and see it for ourselves. You do miss little bits obviously but, I still feel like we have seen a lot of his firsts at home. My son is a home boy though. It will be hard but, you have to do what you can for your family! Make the most of every day of maternity and good luck

No you won't, and any good nursery/childminder will keep quiet about first steps etc so they aren't ruined for you. I'm a childminder & I've had parents tell me they don't want to know if they have crawled, walked or anything like that, they want to see for themselves. In 15 years of childcare experience those firsts have always happened at home x
