PND support groups

Hi Everyone, i've posted recently about my battle with post natal depression after a long fertility journey and traumatic birth. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to respond. I just wondered if anyone knows of any support groups offered in Devon? I have had fantastic support from my GP but I am trying to be proactive and I am really struggling to access any local support groups. I have contacted the local children's centre and my GP has referred me to the Health Visitor but both have said they are unable to help due to lack of funding and resources ☹️. I am looking for contact with any Mum's who may have gone through a similar experience to share coping strategies with xxx

Different but I found bf support none existent (I gave up trying at 3 weeks), such a shame for new mothers that there isn’t more PND support too. I’ve just had my gallbladder out Tuesday evening so I’m having fun trying to recover with a 10 1/2 month old 😂 luckily she’s just started nursery and daddy is doing all the lifting 😬 just trying to sleep when I can! I blame her for breaking it as it was fine until I gave birth 😉 x

Bless you, hope you're recovering well and wishing you a speedy recovery ❤️

Where I live very limited support ☹️ there are a few groups but they are 'invitation only' and I don't meet the criteria to attend. There is a breastfeeding group but not appropriate for me as I was never able to produce milk due to a large postpartum haemorrhage. Left me very unwell for weeks afterwards and I think it was this that spiraled me in PND. I ended up changing GP as my postnatal care wasn't great. Feeling much more supported by my current GP but everything suggested for therapy is pretty much non existent sadly. Thank you for taking the time to respond xxx

I’ve a friend who lives on Devon and works as a health visitor, I’ll pick her brains for you. What part of Devon do you live in?

Can you name an area you’re near, if you’d prefer not to name the specific place? My friend is looking into it for you

My friend has sent over this link; hopefully you can find something helpful:

services.pinpointdevon.co.u...

Have a look through to find what’s appropriate to you, but also search for ‘PANDAS’ using the link.

I hope you get what you need x
