Pregnancy symptoms

Hi all. I'm just writing to ask about anyone's pregnancy symptoms in early pregnancy. I am currently 6 weeks 1 day pregnant and I am getting MAJOR cramping (no bleeding). I've already had 2 scans as they were querying an ectopic but that has been pretty much ruled out now as everything appears to be where it needs to be. The cramping I'm getting comes and goes and sometime radiates up my back and also down my leg. Does anyone else get them as intense? Is it normal?. Thank you xx

I had cramping at this stage but wouldn’t have said it was as bad as you’ve described. I don’t think it’s unheard of to get quite intense cramps but do make sure you get checked out by a doctor or midwife if you’re concerned.

Good that your scans have ruled out ectopic and hope things settle down soon. Maybe a wheat bag or hot water bottle on your lower back might help?

I have a checkup appointment this week so I will definitely be bringing it up! I have been using a hot water bottle religiously as that seems to be the only thing that eases is. The only problem with this of course is when the cramps hit when I'm at work. Sends me really nauseous, sweaty and clammy! Thank you for your reply x

Hi I'm 6 weeks and 4 days and I have been experiencing quite intense lower abdominal cramps but no bleeding they come and go and have eased now, it's good you had a scan done to rule out anything and if everything is in tact then you should be fine as long as there is no heavy bleeding and really bad cramps where you can't bear it then it should be fine just take plenty of rest and reduce any stress, rest seemed to help me out when I had them quite bad. They will eventually ease off, they just could be coz of your womb stretching and adjusting and sometimes they can be quite bad, important thing you got yourself checked out and everything is fine then your fine and have plenty of rest x hope your cramps will settle soon

Hello. I got really bad cramps when I was at around that stage too. I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and still sometimes get them. Mine i think was trapped wind which can be really painful. My midwife told me to try and relax and take some paracetamol. If bleeding were to start then call a dr. I found it very nerve racking to have such strong pain in a pregnancy but it did start to become less frequent. I hope it eases for you soon x

Hi

I did & still am at 25 weeks, its just all the stretching & pulling.

Think when you have been through pregnancy loss you look for all the bad signs 24/7 xx

When I was 4-9 weeks or maybe a little over I was cramping some days worse than others and even had some bleeding.. One day the bleeding was a little more than I was comfortable with so I went to the hospital and they said everything was fine and now I'm 6 months pregnant with a boy and our midwife said everything is perfect right now. Good luck I hope this eases your mind a little I know when I was going through all of that I was going crazy searching on google, calling the nurses line and hospital/doctor visits.

With my first pregnancy I had a lot of painful cramping, some of which I believe was round ligament pains - the uterus stretching to make room for the growing embryo.

As long as you are not experiencing any heavy bleeding, and the pain is not too bad, I'm sure it's perfectly normal. Best of luck!
